# Sharing and visibility

Every project is private by default: only members of your workspace can open it. To show a project to someone outside your workspace, create a share link. The chat history, including every message, is never part of what you share.

You can manage sharing in two places:

- **From the top bar**: Click **Share** next to **Publish**. Choose who can see the project and copy the link.
- **From Chat settings**: Go to **Settings → General → Sharing** to change who can access the project.

Both control the same setting and stay in sync.

## Who has access

- **Only workspace members**: The project is visible to the members of your workspace. Click **Copy link** to get the address of the chat itself, which only they can open.
- **Anyone with the link**: Anyone who has the share link can open a preview of the project, even without a Vibewax account. The chat history is not included.

When you select **Anyone with the link**, you also choose what people can do in the preview:

- **Can view**: They see the preview of the project only.
- **Can comment**: They can browse the preview, add comments, and reply to them. See [Comments](/docs/en/chat/comments).

The link stays the same when you change the permission. Switching back to **Can view** doesn't delete existing comments. Switching back to **Only workspace members** stops the share link from working.

## Protecting the published site

Sharing controls who sees the project inside Vibewax. Once you publish, the live site is visible to everyone on the internet by default. If it should only be open to people you choose, set a password on it under **Settings → General → Published website access**. See [Chat settings](/docs/en/chat/settings#general).
